SAN ANTONIO – Southern Methodist will be making its first-ever appearance at the MCLA National Championships powered by Under Armour after knocking off Texas State, 11-6, in the championship game of the Lone Star Alliance tournament on Sunday afternoon.
The Mustangs (16-0) never trailed in the contest, although the victory wasn’t assured until the fourth quarter. SMU grabbed a quick 3-0 lead to start the game and still held a relatively comfortable 6-3 advantage at halftime, especially with the way senior goalie Adam Connolly was playing. (continue reading…)
DALLAS – A wide range of SMU club sports teams now have a new field to call home. The University’s new Crum Lacrosse and Sports Field was formally dedicated on Wednesday, Feb. 24.
The field was made possible by a generous gift from Gary T. Crum ’69 and Sylvie P. Crum, whose support reflects their family’s long-time love for lacrosse. The couple’s three children – Ashley, Christopher and Clayton – each played lacrosse in their youth as their sport of choice, with Christopher playing on the SMU club team while an undergraduate. Sylvie Crum is a current board member of the US Lacrosse Foundation. (continue reading…)
