The Mustangs will take their annual spring break trip to Southern California for a three game series against SLC opponents USC, UCLA and Claremont. The trip marks the third time since his arrival that Head Coach Karl Lynch has taken his team to the Coast for Spring Break.
“The team loves the weather and the competition,” remarked Lynch. “We try to make sure our team is playing against some of the best teams in the MCLA. Our Spring Break trip allows us to find out where we stack up with the rest of the league.”
An added benefit is that several of the SMU Mustang players are from California. John Tavarez , a converted free safety from the SMU football team, will be returning to his hometown for these games. He is hoping for a Mater Dei welcome from family and friends in March.
In March, the Mustangs welcome the Fighting Illini to the Hilltop. This contest will be a family feud between the Chicago and Dallas Murphys. SMU senior attackman, Matthew Murphy and Freshman Michael Murphy welcome Senior HM All-America defenseman Connor Murphy to Dallas.
